Founded in 1984, ParaTransit Services became Austin's first multi-vehicle fleet to brand and use accessible wheelchair vans as taxicabs. Now we operate taxicabs
and sedans as well as provide contract services to governments, insurance companies and corporations enabling fewer
barriers and the freedom to participate in every day activities for the disability community as a whole. Now you
can plan to include the mobility impaired in functions and activities which in turn will automatically enhance their quality
of life. Austin Cab Company has always been and continues to be the premier pioneer for accessible
fleet service in Central Texas.
Important Notice- Austin Cab offers Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compliant vehicles
and service.
- If you have a foldable wheelchair and can transfer you can choose to ride in a sedan taxi or wheelchair van.
It is YOUR choice. Our drivers are NOT ALLOWED to help you transfer however so if you need help either please bring an attendant
or choose a wheelchair van.
- Our professional drivers are sensitivity trained and know CPR
- Austin Cab PTS wheelchair accessible minivans accommodate power wheelchairs and scooters up to 31”
wide. If you have a larger chair we can arrange a trip thru Austin Private Car Access for your convenience and
charge you whatever the taxi rate..
- We charge the regular
taxi fare and up to 3 additional passengers can ride at no extra charge, just like in a sedan. Same taxi rules apply whether
in or out of a wheelchair van, as it should be.
- Around the clock service is
available however due to the limited number of vans in service at any given moment, please inform us in advance of your requirements
so that we may better serve you.
