Austin Cab wants to better the community
in many ways, including providing accessibility advocacy for the mobility impaired.
Founded in 1991, ParaTransit Services (PTS) has evolved into Austin Cab's Mobility and Wheelchair Accessible
ADA Compliant Transportation Group which services contract accounts as well as the general public.
Helping the mobility impaired translates
to fewer barriers and freedom to participate in every day activities. Now we can plan to include the mobility impaired
in functions and activities which in turn will automatically enhance their quality of life.
We are proud that Austin Cab Company
was the premier pioneer for this service offering for Central Texas.
Important Notice
· If you have a foldable wheelchair and can transfer to
a seat on your own. We will be happy to transport you in either a Sedan or Wheelchair Van.
The choice is yours.
- However, if you are in a foldable wheelchair and you need assistance
to transfer and do not have an attendant present, you must be transported in a Wheelchair Van ONLY because our drivers cannot
be responsible for helping you to transfer. You must be able to manage this on
your own or with help that you employ.
- Austin Cab offers Americans with Disability
Act (ADA) compliant vehicles and service.
- We do not discriminate.
- Our drivers are sensitivity trained
and respectful of accommodating your needs
- Austin Cab’s wheelchair accessible minivans accommodate
power wheelchairs and scooters up to 31” wide and our larger vans can carry bigger custom power chairs for your convenience.
- We charge the regular taxi fare and up to 3 additional passengers
can ride at no extra charge, just like in a sedan. Same taxi rules apply whether in or out of a wheelchair.
- Around the clock service is available
however due to the limited number of vans in service at any given moment, please inform us in advance of your requirements
so that we may better serve you.
